Jerold Edward Knoll, Jr.

Eddie is a native of Markville and is the second son of Eddie (Sr.) and Louisiana Supreme Court Justice Jeannette Knoll. He graduated from Marksville High School in 1993 where he played baseball and football. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Loyola University in New Orleans in 1997 where he was a member of the University’s baseball team. Eddie then received his law degree from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans in 2000 where he had the opportunity to study foreign legal systems at the University of Vienna, Austria, School of Law. Eddie is a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Avoyelles Parish Bar Association, and the Louisiana and American Associations for Justice. Eddie is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal.

Eddie is married to Lauri Sanders Knoll, and they have three children, Trey, Lawson, and Jeanne Elyse. Eddie is an avid hunter and sports enthusiast and enjoys the outdoors.

Laura Bishop Knoll

Laura Bishop Knoll is an accomplished lawyer who has taken a lead role in ground-breaking products liability litigation regarding cell phones as a Member of the Executive Prosecution Committee. She has participated on numerous successful personal injury and property litigation trial teams. She has authored numerous appellate briefs to various Courts of Appeal in Louisiana, and the Louisiana Supreme Court and regularly argues in Courts of Appeal and the District Court, often regarding emerging legal issues. Laura has extensive experience in expert witness admissibility challenges and the scientific aspects of complex litigation.

Laura was born in New York City and graduated from The Brearley School in Manhattan in 1999 where she was the captain of the soccer, basketball and track and field teams. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pomona College magna cum laude (with high honors). At Pomona College, she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society and captained the women’s cross-country and track and field teams. Ms. Knoll was recently inducted into the Pomona College Athletic Hall of Fame for distance running. After college, Laura ran the Los Angeles Marathon twice before realizing that she wanted to go to law school.

Laura graduated from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California in 2009. While at Loyola, she served as an Editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. She also worked as a Summer Associate at the law firm of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, LLP. Laura was courted by many large multi-national law firms, but decided that her values more aligned with small town life and a small country practice.

She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Avoyelles Parish Bar Association, and the American and Louisiana Associations for Justice. She has also attached the status of “Advocate” under the American Association for Justice’s strenuous criteria. Laura is admitted to practice before the Louisiana District and Appellate Courts, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western District of Louisiana and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. She has also been admitted pro hac vice to the Court of Appeal for the District of Columbia.
